Our Sep. 24 to Oct. 10 trip to Tokyo covered two Sundays. On one, Dale preached at Tokyo Multicultural Church. On the other, he led a Members’ Meeting and Ann brought the devotional. For the other days we were mostly kept busy meeting with TMC’ers over a meal or coffee/tea. In Tokyo, meeting in homes is not very easy due to lack of space. But there are many cafes and restaurants to use. We came away sensing that the Lord is indeed developing leaders and laypeople at TMC, but that ongoing pastoral care for people from multiple cultures in a sprawling megacity like Tokyo is a challenge. May God give TMC’s next generation of leaders the energy and wisdom to do so!
